Alder Manor is at 1097 N Broadway, Yonkers, New York 10701, beside Untermyer Gardens. It is about 30 minutes by car from Columbus Circle in Manhattan, depending on traffic.

Alder Manor was completed in 1912 as the weekend home of the financier William Boyce Thompson, and is also known as the W. B. Thompson Mansion. It was designed in the Renaissance Revival style by Carrère & Hastings, the architects of the New York Public Library, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Weddings and engagement parties, private celebrations, corporate retreats, offsites and meetings, brand events, and fashion, film, television and photo productions. The Alder Supper Club also hosts occasional long-table dinners by invitation.

Yes. Private tours are by appointment. Request a private tour through the inquiry form and our reservations office will arrange a visit.

Capacity depends on the rooms you use and the setup (a seated dinner, a standing reception or a ceremony). We confirm exact numbers for your date and layout on request.

Pricing depends on the date, season, day of the week and the shape of your event. Request pricing through our inquiry form and we will send a proposal for your date.

Spring and fall Saturdays are often reserved a year or more ahead, so we suggest inquiring early. Weekdays, Sundays and winter dates usually offer more flexibility.

No. We share a list of preferred vendors we know well, but it is a recommendation, not a requirement. You are welcome to bring your own team, subject to our standard venue approval.

You can work with one of our preferred caterers or bring an approved caterer of your own. Menus are planned directly with your caterer.

Many couples work with a planner, and planners are always welcome. We will tell you in your proposal whether a day-of coordinator is needed for your event.

Yes. Ceremonies can take place in the garden or indoors, with cocktails, dinner and dancing in the rooms of the house.

Every outdoor plan has an indoor alternative inside the house, agreed with you in advance, so the day can move inside without a scramble.

Parking and arrival plans depend on your guest count. We confirm them with your proposal, including shuttle or valet options for larger groups.

Most guests arrive by car or a group shuttle, about 30 minutes from Columbus Circle. Metro-North's Hudson Line also stops in Yonkers; ask us for the best option for your group.

Alder Manor is a 1912 historic house, and access varies from room to room. Tell us about any accessibility needs and we will plan arrival, routes and seating with you, and show you on a tour.

Overnight guest rooms are planned for the estate but are not available yet. We are happy to suggest nearby hotels.

Yes. Alder Manor hosts leadership offsites, board meetings, workshops, launches and holiday parties, with catering and audiovisual support arranged through our partners or your own suppliers.

Yes. The estate has appeared in A Beautiful Mind, Mona Lisa Smile, Boardwalk Empire, Mr. Robot and Inventing Anna, and hosted a Vogue photoshoot with Gigi Hadid for the April 2025 issue. Feature, series, commercial, editorial and stills work are all welcome.

Yes. The City of Yonkers requires a film permit even on private property, generally applied for at least seven business days ahead, with proof of liability insurance. We help you through the process.
